Interesting Facts

These are some interesting facts that we found during our research:

There are at least five times as many homeless animals than people.

There are more than 30 million street dogs in India

500 tonnes of rubbish are left lying around uncollected every day in Mumbai alone. The street dogs in these areas choke to death on trash or eats something indigestible that can leave the dog to die slowly in agony.
Bites and rabies from street dogs has caused around 20,000 human deaths each year.

    1. Thanks for your comment Breanne! Yes, street dogs eat rubbish, leftovers and any thing else they can find. Many dogs get beaten, stoned and some get burnt with hot water or oil just because they got too close to people!

  2. I think this is a really good topic but I just wish that you had put in more information about the street dogs. I also have a question. How do people treat the dogs? Do they beat them? Do they treat them with respect.? Do they make them pets? Please respond soon.

    1. Thank you for your comment and the question. People in India usually ignore the dogs but if the dogs come in their way they scream or yell. They also warn a lot of travelers and say that the dogs are evil. Did you know that 20000 rabies bites kill people a year.
